Former Clay Center resident, Christina J. Hill, 91, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at the Harvard Rest Haven in Harvard, NE.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 18, 2017, at Zion Lutheran Church in Clay Center with Rev. Rob Garton officiating. Interment will follow at the Clay Center Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, from 1 p.m. – 8 p.m., at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel in Clay Center, NE.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family to be designated later.

Christina J. Hill was born April 19, 1926, in Hildreth, NE to Jacob “Jake” and Tillie (DeJonge) Rewerts. On September 16, 1947, she married Clifford W. Hill in Franklin, NE. She was employed as a homemaker, daycare provider, at Crossroads Café and Twin Oaks Motel all in Clay Center, NE.

Christina enjoyed being a grandma for 49 years. Grandchildren made her most proud and she always looked forward to their visits. Christina also loved working in her flower beds and had a natural talent for creating flower gardens for everyone to enjoy.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Clay Center and the Clay Center American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by her children, Lila (Jerry) Herman of Geneva, NE; Susan (Delbert) Alspaugh of Lincoln, NE; Ronald Hill of Lincoln, NE; Melody Hill of Hastings, NE; grandchildren, Jeff, Corey, Kimberly, Luke, Emily and Lance; numerous great-grandchildren and sister, Alice Schnuerle of Clay Center, NE.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifford; son, Vernon; and brothers, William and Lawrence.

I am so sorry to hear that Christina passed away. I enjoyed visiting with her when I got the chance and she always had a smile on her face. She was a special lady. Take comfort that she is with her Heavenly Father and resting securely in his loving arms. With Deepest Sympathy.
