After the first grade, Jeannine attended rural school Districts 89 and 64 southeast of Sutton in Fillmore County. She completed her elementary education in Saronville, Nebraska's District 73. To this union, three children were born, Gerald (Jerry), Sherry, and Kevin.

She attended the Saronville Methodist Church until its closing in 1992, at which time the family joined the Sutton Federated Church.
