Jeannine Ruth (Ham) Erickson was born December 11, 1928, to Ivan and Ruth (Kendall) Ham southeast of Sutton, Nebraska in Fillmore County.

Jeannine and brother Kendall started school in the first grade with their mother, Ruth as their teacher. After the first grade, Jeannine attended rural school Districts 89 and 64 southeast of Sutton in Fillmore County. She completed her elementary education in Saronville, Nebraska's District 73. After graduating from Sutton High School in 1946, she taught south of Sutton, District 20 for one year.

On June 1, 1947, she was united in marriage to Wayne Wenzell Erickson. Her wedding gown was made by her mother Ruth from the silk fabric that Wayne sent from Japan while in the military. After the wedding, they moved to a farm northwest of Sutton where they lived until 1975. At that time, they moved into their new home in Sutton. To this union, three children were born, Gerald (Jerry), Sherry, and Kevin.

Jeannine was baptized and confirmed in the Saronville Methodist Church. She held several offices in the Methodist Women's Group and taught Bible and Sunday School for several years. She attended the Saronville Methodist Church until its closing in 1992, at which time the family joined the Sutton Federated Church.

Jeannine worked various jobs during her lifetime. She was employed at the Sutton Community Home, Pioneer Seed Plant, and Rolfes's Seed Company.

Jeannine loved playing bridge and always enjoyed her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She liked nothing more than having her whole family together.
Jeannine is survived by her children, Gerald (Jerry) and wife Carol (Ulmer) Erickson of Sutton; Sherry Ebert of Sutton and Kevin Erickson of Breckenridge, CO; grandchildren, Stacy and husband Troy Schutte of Elkhorn, NE.; Kyle and wife Dana Erickson of Kansas City, MO; Michelle (Miki) and husband Jamie Hajny of Glenvil, NE; Corey and wife Traci Ebert of Saronville; great-grandchildren, Dillon, Caden and Ella Schutte, Jake Erickson, Jace Hajny, Kellen, Kierra, Brooks and Hallie Ebert; brother, Kendall and wife Marge Ham of Sutton and sister, Beverly and husband Elmer Epp of Henderson, NE; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Mere words cannot express the gratitude that I have for Jeannine and Wayne and the kindness, hospitality and gifts they afforded me during my adolescent years. Even though they had probably enough help on the family farm they allowed me to work for them for several years, which helped me and my mother immensely. Jeannine always had a great meal cooked up for lunch and was genuinely interested in me and my family. Of course, her greatest accomplishment was to be matriarch of a tremendously accomplished family. May all of Heaven's blessings come to Jeannine, Wayne, their children and the extended family...garth gemar
