Annetta E. Nuss

Sutton resident, Annetta E. Nuss, 87, died Monday, August 15, 2016, at the Henderson Health Care Hospital in Henderson, NE. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 18, 2016, at Sutton Memorial Chapel in Sutton, NE with the Free German Reformed Salem Church Elders officiating. Interment will follow at the Free German Reformed Salem Church Cemetery near Sutton, NE. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 2 p.m. - 8 p.m., with the family present from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m., at Sutton Memorial Chapel in Sutton, NE. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family to be designated at a later date. Annetta was born March 12, 1929, in Fillmore County, NE to Albert and Margaret (Griess) Huber. She lived on the farm and attended District #1 School in Fillmore County thru the eighth grade. On September 9, 1948, she was united in marriage to Samuel Nuss for 51 years until he died in July of 2000. To this union were born four children, Barbara; Melvin; Alan Dale and Norma. Annetta was a great cook and baker. She enjoyed crocheting many afghans for her children and grandchildren. Annetta and husband Sam always had a big garden and canned many quarts of fruits and vegetables. After retiring from the farm near Saronville, NE in 1988-1989, they resided in Sutton. She is survived by her children, Barbara (Gus) Griess of Sutton, NE; Melvin Nuss of Phoenix, AZ; Norma (Tom) Blackburn of Superior, NE; brother, Don Huber of Sutton, NE; brother and sister-in-law, Eddie and Loretta Huber of Sutton, NE; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Martin and Suzanne Nuss of Sutton, NE; eight grandchildren, Delora (Griess) Hahn; Diana (Griess) Grubb; Darlene (Griess) Bantam; Gary A. Griess; Spring (Umbower) Sorensen; Dani Pritt; Raile and Sierra Blackburn; great-grandchildren, Adam and Benjamin Hahn; Trevor and Samuel Sorensen; Samuel, Sullivan, Hazel and Sawyer Bantam; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; 2 sisters, Erna (Huber) Hensley; Marie (Huber) Nuss; 2 brothers-in-law, Benjamin and Ephraim K. Nuss, Jr.; sisters-in-law, Kate Nuss; Lucille Huber; daughter-in-law, Jeri Nuss; and and infant son, Alan Dale.
