William "Bill" Hofmann

Sutton, NE resident, William A. "Bill" Hofmann, 60, left this world to be with his Savior Saturday, November 5, 2016, doing what he loved on his family farm northeast of Sutton, NE. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 11, 2016, at Emmanuel Reformed Church in Sutton, NE with Rev. Joe Vusich officiating. Interment will follow at the Emmanuel Reformed Church Cemetery near Sutton, NE. Visitation will be Thursday, from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m., at Sutton Memorial Chapel in Sutton, NE. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Sutton FFA Alumni or the Sutton Community Home Foundation towards the building of a new nursing home, a community project that Bill was excited to see completed. William A. "Bill" Hofmann was born June 19, 1956, in Henderson, NE to Albert and Talitha (Griess) Hofmann. He was baptized and confirmed at the Free German Reformed Salem Church in rural Sutton, NE. After completing country school at district 8 and finishing high school at Sutton Public Schools in the class of 1974, he went on to pursue his passion of farming and became the 3rd generation to work the family farm. He married Pamela Boehler of Sutton, NE on June 6, 1981. From this union was born two children, Kristin Arlis "Short" and Brandon Albert "Barndoor". Bill had a passion for the family farm and was elated to have his son and son-in-law by his side through all the trials and tribulations that farming has brought in the recent years. Bill made every person in his life feel special by the unique nicknames he assigned. There wasn't a person in the county that could leave Bill's farm without a smile on their face. He recently had his first grandchild born and was able to spend 15 months with his "partner in crime", a little girl that stole his heart from day one, he nicknamed "Grupser". Bill is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Pam of Sutton, NE; two children, Kristin (Regan) Jerred of Sutton, NE; Brandon (Jordan) Hofmann of Sutton, NE; two sisters, Delores (Dave) Huber of Sutton, NE; Wanda (Dan) Arp of Corvallis, OR; sister-in-law, Deb (Mike) McClure of Jacksonville, FL; father and mother in-law, AJ and LaJeanne Boehler of Hastings, NE; granddaughter, Reese Hofmann of Sutton, NE; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Talitha Hofmann; sisters and brothers-in-law, Rosemary (Roy) Griess; Arlis (Calvin) Griess; and nephew, Martin Griess.
