Allan D. Brodrick Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Fairfield resident Allan D. Brodrick, 75, died Friday, August 16, 2013, at Rose Brook Care Center in Edgar, NE. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 20, 2013, at Fairfield Community Presbyterian Church with Rev. Stephen W. Deines officiating. Private family burial will held at a later date. Visitation will be Monday, August 19, 2013, from 1 p.m. - 8 p.m., with the family present from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m., at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel in Clay Center, NE. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family to be designated at a later date. Allan was born March 11, 1938, to Earl and Marie (Glass) Brodrick. He graduated from Fairfield High School with the class of 1956. He served in the Army National Guard from 1960 to 1967 being honorably discharged. On June 10 1961, he married Jan (Wagner) and to this marriage 3 children were born. Allan farmed the family farm near Fairfield for over 50 years. He was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church in Fairfield, NE. Allan loved farming, being outdoors, and going to stock car races. He was an avid Nascar fan. He was very proud of his family and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Surviors include his wife, Jan; one daughter, Wendy Brodrick (Rod Riga) of Marietta, Georgia; two sons, Brian (Julie) Brodrick of Deweese, Nebraska; Bryce (Kelly) Brodrick of Hastings, NE; six grandchildren, Kayla Brodrick, Jared Riga, Adrienne Riga, Peyton Brodrick, Lexi Brodrick, and John Brodrick. One cousin, Kenneth Glass of Ottumwa, Iowa. Allan was preceded in death by his parents and infant sister, Beverly Ann.
