Irene Lucille Ochsner Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Sutton resident Irene Lucille Ochsner, 92, died Saturday, March 16, 2013, at the Sutton Community Home in Sutton, NE. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 22, 2013, at Emmanuel Reformed Church in Sutton, NE with Rev. Joe Vusich officiating. Interment will follow at the Sutton Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, March 21, 2013, from 1 p.m. - 8 p.m., with the family present from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m., at Sutton Memorial Chapel in Sutton, NE. Memorial contributions may be directed to Emmanuel Reformed Church or the Sutton Community Home. Irene Lucille Ochsner was born June 4, 1920, to Wilson and Sarah (Nelson) Miller in Chelsea Township, Fillmore County, Nebraska. She graduated from Geneva High School and attended Peru State College. Lucille was an elementary school teacher in Sutton and Hastings. She was united in marriage to Leo Ochsner on February 13, 1949. Leo and Lucille farmed northwest of Saronville until they retired to Sutton in 1979. The Lord blessed them with three sons, Lauren (Barbara) of Maurice, Iowa, Lyndon (Sue) of Sutton and Lon (Linda) of Saronville. To these sons were born Lucille's 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Lucille loved people and she always had a ready smile for everyone. Some of her most cherished memories were when her family was all together in her home. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed trying the new Kitchen Klatter recipes for her family and friends. She was a member of the Matronettes Extension Club, Emmanuel Reformed Ladies Aid, and was a Sunday School teacher. Lucille is survived by her sister, Doris Marotz of Norfolk, Nebraska; brother-in-law, Milton (Mary) Ochsner of Bothell, Washington; and numerous other relatives and friends.
