Jessica Jean Nuss

January 31, 1996 - March 17, 2018

Sutton resident, Jessica Jean Nuss, 22, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Houston Methodist Hospital in Houston, TX. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 23, 2018, at Emmanuel Reformed Church in Sutton with Rev. Joe Vusich officiating. Interment will follow at the Sutton Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, From 2 p.m. - 8 p.m., with the family present from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m., at Sutton Memorial Chapel. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family to be designated later. Jessica Jean Nuss was born January 31, 1996, in Henderson, NE to Gary and Brenda Kay (Mohnike) Nuss. She received her education at Sutton Public School, graduating in 2015. At the age of 6 months, Jessica was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis and spent a great deal of her life in a hospital. Regardless of being hospitalized she always had a smile on her face and was always in a cheerful mood. She was a member of Emmanuel Reformed church and was baptized on January 26, 1997. She also belonged to FFA and 4-H. She liked to spend her time cooking and trying new foods. Jessica loved spending her time with her family and friends. One of her greatest joys was being involved in walks and other events to help raise money and spread awareness about others struggling with Cystic Fibrosis. She is survived by her parents, Gary and Brenda Nuss of Sutton, NE; sister, Jenna Rae Nuss of Sutton, NE; brother, Jaden Don Nuss of Sutton, NE; grandparents, Don and Elaine Nuss of Sutton, NE; Jean Thompson of Hebron, NE; great-grandparent, Paul Neff of York, NE and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Steve Mohnike and great-grandmother, Margaret Neff.
