    May 7, 1931 - May 18, 2013

    Former Deweese resident, Rose Marie Hansen, 82, died Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Rose Brook Care Center in Edgar, NE. Rosary will be 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Deweese, NE. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 23, 2013, at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church with Father Loras Grell and Monsignor Ivan Vap officiating. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery in Deweese, NE. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 22, from 4 p.m., until the Rosary with the family present from 5:30 p.m., until the Rosary at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Deweese, NE. Rose was born May 7, 1931 to John and Mary (Karmazin) Petr in Lawrence, NE., the youngest of five siblings. She graduated from St. Cecilia High School in Hastings, Nebraska in 1947. On February 21, 1952, Rose was united in marriage to Keith D. Hansen at the Our Lady of Assumption Catholic church in Deweese. Well known for her doughnut and bread making skills, Rose loved sharing her great sense of humor with friends and family. Some of the organizations Rose belonged to were the Deweese VFW Auxiliary, the Deweese Community Club, and the Altar Society of the Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Deweese. Rose worked for the Good Samaritan Nursing Center in Nelson for 22 years, retiring in 1991. During her retirement years she was an in home caregiver and also worked at the Horseshoe Inn in Deweese. Rose moved to Rose Brook Care Center in 2010. Left to remember Rose are her children, Patricia (Roger) Ploen of Pierson, IA; Ray (Cyndi Rotter-Hansen) of Norfolk, NE; Jim Hansen, Dan (Brenda) Hansen all of Deweese, NE; Carol Boutin of Tolleson, AZ; Anita (Jeff) Ploen of Kingsley, IA; and Paul "Hooter" (Chris) Hansen also of Deweese, NE . Grandchildren are Kiel (Shantel) and Kelsey Ploen, Jeremey Hansen, Kristin and Derek Hansen, Evan, Bailey, and Taylor Hansen, Cissy and Jeff Boutin, and Tiffany Gapp, Nathan, Lucas (Abby), Heidi, and Tanner Ploen, Tracy Armbruster, and Corbin and Justin Hansen. Great grandchildren Samantha Rose and Sheridan Gapp, and Drayson and Zaylee Rose Ploen. Rose is also survived by her brother, Emil Petr of Rio Norte, Natal, Brazil and sister-in-law, Jeanne Petr of Hastings, NE and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Keith D.; brothers, Edward and George Petr; sister, Helen Hansen; brother-in-law, Gerald Hansen; sisters-in-law, Loretta Petr and Celia Petr.
