Pearl Margurite Anderson

Clay Center resident Pearl Margurite Anderson, 87, died Friday, February 21, 2014, at the Harvard Rest Haven in Harvard, NE. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at the Aurora Evangelical Free Church in Aurora, NE with Pastor Vance Christie officiating. Interment will follow at the Clay Center Cemetery in Clay Center, NE. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 1 p.m. - 8 p.m., with the family present from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m., at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel in Clay Center, NE. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Aurora Evangelical Free Church or to Harvard Rest Haven to be used for hospice supplies. Pearl was born March 14, 1926, to Herman and Pearl (Adams) Ehrisman on Nohr farm in Wagner, SD. In 1944, Pearl met Robert B. Anderson and they were married March 4, 1946, in Wagner, SD at the United Methodist Church. In 1947, their first child Dennis was born and after that 6 more sons followed over the next 22 years: Jack, Carl, David, Robert, Timothy and Scott - all born in Wagner, SD. In 1970, Pearl, Bob and 5 boys moved to Nebraska from the farm in Wagner, SD. Throughout her life, Pearl worked at many jobs in addition to being a farmer's wife and raising 7 boys. She loved helping others and worked many years at the Wagner, SD and Edgar, NE retirement centers. In 1991, Pearl retired from the M.A.R.C. after 13 years. Pearl had many hobbies and "loves" including camping for 40 plus years with her family. She also loved embroidery, cross-stitching and following her son's sports participation. She tried to make it to all of their games and matches. Pearl's faith in God, marriage to Bob and her family filled her life but her faith was foremost. She taught Sunday School, loved to sing in church and helped in every way. She leaves her husband, Bob of Clay Center, NE; sisters, Dorothy Jackson of Ellensburg, WA; Louella Connolly of Napa, CA; brothers, Royal Ehrisman of Wagner, SD; Vern Ehrisman of Seneca, MO; 7 sons, Denny of Freeman, NH; Jack of Clever, MO; Carl of Hastings, NE; David of Quaker Hill CT; Bob of Gretna, NE; Tim of Clay Center, NE; Scott of Canton, SD; 29 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and her best friend and cousin Sue Weerheim of Grand Island, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Pearl; brothers, Herman, Jr. and Melvin and sister, Loveda.
